YMCA Rules and Regulations
The YMCA is a private, not-for-profit membership organization. We reserve the right to deny service to any person for any reason. Membership or guest privileges may be revoked at any time for failure to abide by the YMCA policies and procedures.
Membership Card Policy
To ensure the best service to our members, we have a "No
card, No entry" policy. Everyone is required to show
their YMCA Membership Card to gain entrance to the facility,
so please bring your YMCA card on every visit to prevent
delay. Should you not have your card with you, you may
be delayed while your membership is verified and while
you fill out a "forgotten card" registration.
There is a $5.00 charge to replace a lost card.
Day Membership Policy
A current photo ID is required
A Non Member Information Form must be completed
Photo ID will be held at the Front Desk while in the facility
Non Members are allowed up to three day memberships per calendar year. After the
third visit you must become a member to continue to use the facility.
Please note: There are no guest passes, however a complimentary one day membership may be granted to prospective members who are guests of current members.
Building Policy
- Pre-school and Youth grades 6 and below will not be allowed in the YMCA after 6:00 P.M. unless accompanied by an adult at least 19 years old.
- Grade School and Jr. High students are not permitted in the YMCA from 12:00 - 1:00 p.m. due to adult scheduled programs and limited supervision.
- Youth grades 6 and below must be accompanied by a parent on Sunday. Youth under 9 years of age must be accompanied by an adult at all times while using the YMCA.
- The YMCA conducts scheduled programs and is not to be used as an all day supervision service for children. Please bring children to scheduled programs only.
Building Dress Code
- Shoes and shirts required.
- Non-marking athletic shoes only on wood surfaced floors.
- Exercise clothing must be appropriate for the activity. No street clothes.
- Exercise clothing should reflect YMCA values.
YMCA Whirlpool Policy
- Whirlpool area is for people 16 years and older
- STATE LAW requires showering before using whirlpool
- Read warning signs on walls before entering whirlpool
- Pregnant women and persons suffering from heart disease, diabetes, or high blood pressure should not enter whirlpool without prior permission from their doctor
- Persons with communicable diseases, skin infections or open sores shall not enter whirlpool
- Check whirlpool water temperature before use. Max safe temperature is 104 degrees. If temperature is higher than 104 degrees, report to lifeguard immediately and do not enter
- Enter whirlpool backward down steps slowly
- Do not submerge face or head
- Observe reasonable time limits.
- If experiencing nausea, dizziness or unusual feelings, exit whirlpool immediately
- Lifeguard must be on duty at all times while using whirlpool
- ABSOLUTELY NO HORSE PLAY!
Play Pool Policy
- Parents/guardians with children 3 years of age and under must be
in swim attire and with their children at all times. A child 4 to 8
years of age must be supervised “hands-on” by their parent/guardian
at all times. (Parent/Guardian must stay in YMCA). ABSOLUTELY NO
HORSE PLAY! Please help us in keeping our aquatic facility a safe
and fun environment.
Slide Policy
- Slide feet first only Only one person on platform at a time Lifeguard must be present when slide is open Participants must pass deep-water test before using slide Swim to ladder after sliding ABSOLUTELY NO HORSE PLAY!
Swim Lesson Building Policy
All parents/guardians are asked to stay in the building during swim
lesson classes. If an emergency arises, we must be able to contact the
parent/ guardian in order to perform first aid on a child. Parents/guardians
that work-out at the YMCA fitness areas are asked to stay where building
loud speakers can be heard (please no headphones while working out).
Parent/guardians are asked to show up at least five minutes early for you
child’s classes. This will help in getting your child ready and to class on
time. It disrupts the class if you are late. Parent/guardians are asked to
please follow YMCA rules regarding ages of children left in aquatic facility
alone. Please make sure you are at the pool by the end of the lesson period.
Thank you for your cooperation. With your help our swim lesson programs will
always be a success.
Swimming Pool Policy
- All children 3 to 18 years of age must pass a swim test in order to swim in slide pool or lap pool. After test is completed and passed, aquatic staff will mark each participant’s membership card and a wristband will need to be worn while in aquatic facility. Thereafter, participants entering the YMCA will need to show their marked membership card to the front desk and receive a wristband before entering the aquatic center.

- Swimming pool and whirlpool are closed unless lifeguard is present
- Children under 9 yrs of age must be accompanied by an adult and within arm’s reach at all times
- No running, pushing or shoving
- No diving in shallow water. Must be in 9 ft of water to dive
- No back dives or flips from side of pool
- Food, gum, drinks prohibited in pool area. Plastic water bottles allowed.
- Pool participants are to stay in appropriate designed swim areas
- No sitting on, hanging on, or crossing over the safety lines or hand rails
- Kick boards are to be used for kicking only
- Equipment or toys are not permitted in deep water
- Cutoffs, see-through clothes and diapers without waterproof pants are not permitted
- Persons with communicable diseases or open wounds must not enter pools
- Diving blocks are to be used for instructional program and related activities only
- To swim in the lap pool, swimmers must swim 25 yards with a strong free style stroke without interruption
- Personal inflatable flotation devices are not permitted. Other flotation devices must be approved by lifeguard
- Infants must be at least 6 months old to enter pool with an adult
- Participants must enter and exit pool area through locker rooms
- Participants must go down stairs backwards
