YMCA Climbing Wall

Rock Climbing is a sport that provides both physical and mental challenge. Climbers of all levels & abilities experience the thrill and challenge that makes rock climbing an exciting activity. Climbing enhances problem solving skills as well as flexibility, balance and strength. Our indoor climbing wall is a safe way to learn basic mechanics while building confidence and trust.

Top Rope Safety Test

For those with previous climbing experience.
Allows participant to climb and belay without Y staff assistance.
Must know proper use of equipment, commands, belaying and climbing techniques.
Fee: $10 one time fee


Intro to Climbing for Adults

Two hour class for those with little or no climbing experience or those needing a refresher course. Learn proper use of equipment, belaying techniques, knot tying, bouldering safety, wall etiquette, general self awareness and responsibility. Top Rope Safety Test Included. Sign up at front desk. Four students per class maximum.

Days/times: Saturday   10:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m.
Fee: $30 per person for two 2 hour sessions


Open Climb

Try out the wall. The Y staff will belay you as you climb. No experience necessary. For all ages. Two climbs per person.
Days/times: Check activity board for times or pick up schedule at the front desk.


Specialty Fitness Classes

WOW (Women on Weights)
The weight room is not just for guys anymore. Become familiar and comfortable in the weight room then increase your strength and fitness level. Group Training classes will be held in the mornings and evenings. Class size is limited and will meet 2 times per week. Check with the front desk on session dates and times.


6 Week Sessions

Members $50.
Program Members $75

COUCH TO 5K
This course will be beneficial for beginners or advanced runners who want to increase their speed or mileage. Weekly meetings will be held with an information segment and then of course a run. Training with a group is proven to be more fun, motivating and makes it easier to reach your goals.

BOOT CAMP
Bring your fitness to a new level this summer. The YMCA will be offering boot camp classes on Saturdays during June and July. The classes will be held in Studio A at 9:00 am. Every class is different but has a combination of strength, agility, speed and balance exercises. All participants receive a t-shirt and prizes will be awarded for attendance.

Y Members:
$50 for all classes includes a t-shirt /> $10 on a per class basis

Program Members:
$75 for all classes includes a t-shirt
$15 on a per class basis


Group Exercise Classes

Step Explosion:
A new type of step.  Creative choreography infused with power moves.  This class keeps moving and challenges participants.

Step:
A high energy, low impact class involving the use of an adjustable height step. Great moves with a challenging workout.

Silver Sneakers: Cardio Circuit
Have fun and move to the music through a variety of exercises designed to increase muscular strength, range of movement, and activity for daily living skills. Hand –held weights, elastic tubing with handles and a ball are offered for resistance, a chair is used for seated and/or standing support.

CorePole:
In one workout CorePole delivers total fitness – strength, flexibility, stability and cardio. The result is full body conditioning.

Circuit:
A high intensity interval class. The intervals include: step, sculpting using weights and sports conditioning using jump ropes. The class continually cycles through the intervals.

Pilates: An increasingly popular form of “mind-body” exercise that helps improve core muscle strength, flexibility, balance and posture.

Rep Reebok:
Rep Reebok is a safe, effective strength training activity that can be done in a group. Rep Reebok is a muscle definition program, that is simple and effective in improving muscular strength.

Total Body Workout:
Cycling: The Cycling exercise program is like bringing your outdoor bike indoors. No matter what your experience or ability, there is a cycling class for you. Whether you’re a beginner or an advanced cyclist, you can ride at your own pace to have a workout that is right for you. Check out a hear rate monitor at the front desk for class. Always bring a water bottle.

Kickboxing:
What a workout! A cardio class with defense type moves. You use bags and gloves to help burn calories and relieve stress!

Yoga:
Join us as we guide you through a series of yoga poses. Increase flexibility, strength & range of motion. You’ll cultivate peace of mind.

Cycling:
The Cycling exercise program is like bringing your outdoor bike indoors. No matter what your experience or ability, there is a cycling class for you. Whether you’re a beginner or an advanced cyclist, you can ride at your own pace to have a workout that is right for you. Always bring a water bottle.

Zumba:
Zumba eliminates the “work” from “working out” by combining amazing, irresistible Latin and international music with dynamic, yet simple exercise moves, using their unique intermittent training format.


Cybex/Cardio Machines Training

To safely and effectively begin your fitness program, the YMCA offers free training to members. Days/Times: Check with desk for times

Y12 Week Personalized Fitness

The YMCA National Personalized Fitness program is an individualized 12-week program designed for those who are new to exercise or who would like some help and encouragement maintaining a program. Participants will have one on one appointments with a trained personal fitness coach. Program size is limited.
Sign up: At Front Desk. Participants will be contacted with exact time for meeting with trainers.

Fitness Testing

Fitness Evaluation using the National YMCA Fitness Testing Protocol. Tests measures overall fitness including: body composition, blood pressure, aerobic capacity, muscular strength, flexibility and heart rate. The object of the first assessment is to give you a baseline from which to measure your performance. Subsequent assessments will provide milestones to help you evaluate your progress. Great tool to track your fitness goals.
Fee: Y Members $30


Body Composition Test

The body is composed of lean body mass and fat. Body fat, not weight, is the most accurate indicator of fitness and health. The percentage of body fat is estimated from skinfold measurements using a skinfold caliper. The measurements are taken at the tricep, hip, abdomen and thigh. Wear shorts and a t-shirt. By appointment with Kim Boeckman.

Initial Consultation: $30.00 this is a one time only fee. It is required of all individuals who will be participating in personal training at the YMCA. It involves a 1 hour assessment evaluating your current fitness level, current cardiovascular level, flexibility, RHR, and body composition. We will also discuss fitness goals and basic nutrition during this time.


Brown Bag Lunch Series

Bring your lunch and enjoy fellowship while you learn about nutrition, stretching, exercise options and healthy lifestyles each Wednesday in April. All classes at the Y.
